Following on from last week’s rumours, luxury Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer have confirmed the existence of the ‘Meridiist’, a high tier mobile phone set to compete in the space currently occupied primarily by Vertu (Nokia’s own luxury spin off brand).
Very little technical information accompanied the official announcement and glossy press photos, but Tag claim their Meridiist device is hand assembled from 430 components, has a screen that cannot be scratched, and boasts 7 hours of talktime.
More details to follow as we get them, but for now the Meridiist is expected to be available from September.
