Nokia has launched “Comes With Music”. The first phone to support this new service will have free access to more than 2 million tracks from labels including Universal, Sony and EMI.

There will be no cost to download as it will come bundled with the price of the phone and instead of royalties being paid to the artist, they will receive a cut from the sale of each phone.

The market for mobile music is fast becoming congested with Sony Ericsson having already announced its PlayNow Plus and LG planning on a similar move.

The industry hopes to make up the cash lost on decreasing sales in the CD market and illegal downloads. Experts say Apple iTunes would be put under pressure as it cannot count on retaining users when competing with such a free service.

Carphone are expected to offer Comes With Music phones from October 16.
