I came across this article in the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center:

Overview
To uninstall Desktop Manager on Windows Vista perform the following actions:

  1. On your computer open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
  2. Select a program (Desktop Manager) and click Uninstall.

To modify Desktop Manager perform the following actions.

  1. Click Change or Repair.
  2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

This article has, on many occasions, proven to be very useful when resolving corrupt installations, usually caused by installing an upgrade over an existing instance of the software client.

In line with the new App World update 1.1.0.11, a new BlackBerry knowledge base article KB19153 takes us through upgrading the BlackBerry App World on the smartphone.

The new notification system alerts BlackBerry smartphone users when a new version of the application is available for download. It is a breakthrough in performing mobile application updates without having to start the application first, as is often the case in other smart phones.

BlackBerry App World Catalog is now available online

The catalog gives you access to all the apps including browsing featured items, top downloads, categories or subcategories, as well as searching for applications by name, “free,” “paid,” or “new.”

The catalog includes the description, pricing, size of download, screenshots and reviews. You can also see what device and carrier restrictions exist. After selecting an application, you provide your email address and a URL will be sent to your BlackBerry which when clicked on, automatically directs the App World to that app.
