Adobe Systems Incorporated and Research In Motion today announced they are working together to bring Adobe Flash Player support to the BlackBerry platform. RIM is joining the Open Screen Project, a broad initiative dedicated to enabling standalone applications and richer Web browsing across mobile phones, televisions, desktops and other consumer electronic devices through the Adobe Flash Platform. O2 parent Telefónica has put motions in place to start 3G LTE (Long Term Evolution) trials in Europe ( Czech Republic, Germany, UK ) and in South America ( Latin America, Brazil and Argentina ).
O2 UK and Telefonica foresee 3G LTE providing maximum mobile speeds of around 340 Megabytes per second in ideal network conditions. There are operator benefits such as 3G LTE flexible frequency spectrum management allowing for frequency allocation where most needed e.g. when the Olympics are on in London and demand for 3G LTE mobile and mobile broadband services soar due to demand. RIM has an official BlackBerry channel on YouTube which appears to be aimed at basic BlackBerry usage.
“How to” videos such as “How to set up a personal email account on your BlackBerry” and specific BlackBerry smartphone videos such as “How to take a picture with your BlackBerry Curve 8520” are now available.
