If you have just purchased your new client access license (CAL) and don’t know where to add it in the BlackBerry Manager or BlackBerry Administration Service, here’s how:

To add a new CAL authentication key, complete one of the following sets of steps, depending on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server version:

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1:

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
  2. Click BlackBerry Domain.
  3. On the Global tab, expand the Account section and then click License Management.
  4. Specify the new CAL authentication key and then click Add License.

For BlackBerry Professional Software:

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
  2. Click the Home tab.
  3. Under the Account task, select License Management.
  4. Specify the new CAL authentication key and then click Add License.

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 and 5.0 SP1:

  1. Open the BlackBerry Administration Service.
  2. On the Servers and components menu, expand BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component View.
  3. Click BlackBerry Administration Service.
  4. Click Edit Component.
  5. In the License Key section, type the CAL key information and then click the Add icon.
  6. Once the CAL has been added or changed, click save all at the bottom of the screen.
