The handheldcleanup.exe tool must be run when logged in as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account. The most common use of this utility is the handheldcleanup.exe -u switch after a mailbox is moved to resolve GAL lookup issues.

Recycling and waste management firm Biffa has awarded Vodafone UK a £1.75 million, three-year contract to provide it with mobile communication services.

Vodafone will enable Biffa to relay information between its 1,500 refuse collection trucks and the Biffa head office in High Wycombe via a secure, dedicated data link across Vodafone UK’s network so that Biffa can capture information like proof of collection more efficiently. It will also be able to identify vehicle locations. Vodafone will provide Biffa with a total of 3,100 devices, including BlackBerry smartphones, as part of the deal. continue

To view or remove databases from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Open BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
  2. Click Backup and Restore.
  3. Click Advanced. The databases are stored in the Device Databases list.

Overview

 

When a BlackBerry smartphone user tries to send an email message, a red X appears beside the email message in the Messages list, indicating that it cannot be sent. The Message Status field displays one of the following error messages:

  • Unlisted message error
  • Desktop email program unable to submit message.

Note: The Message Status field appears above the To field within the email message.

Research in Motion and BMW have been working on technology that essentially turns your BMW’s ConnectedDrive (iDrive) into a remote control of your BlackBerry.  Using a new Bluetooth protocol called MAP (Message Access Profile), the BMW and BlackBerry can pair allowing ConnectedDrive to sync all the contacts and email from the BlackBerry.  Once paired, ConnectedDrive can scan through and read headers of emails through the iDrive console and select messages can be read using iDrive’s text-to-voice feature. continue
