Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, announced at BlackBerry World 2011 that Blackberry devices will use Bing as the preferred search provider in the browser. Bing will also be the default search and map application for new devices as well as thoroughly integrated within BlackBerry’s new operating system, OS 7. “This goes way beyond search box,” Ballmer said. “It’s about real tools that help real people get things done.”

Bing will have a regular, featured placement and promotion on the BlackBerry App World and is already shipping as the default search engine and map application for the new BlackBerry Playbook.
