RIM released a short promotional video giving some additional insight into BlackBerry Mobile Fusion.

This new software hopes to be the evolution of BES, with the addition of managing non-BlackBerry devices. From a single web based interface, provision, audit and protect mobile devices, including BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry PlayBook and, devices that use iOS and Android operating systems (expected in 2012). This unified approach will help provide secure mobile access to work email and data in a cost-effective way.

This week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Research In Motion will be previewing new features of BlackBerry® PlayBook™ OS 2.0 that will enable customers to stay even more connected and productive in their personal and professional lives.

Measuring in at 120 x 62 x 11.5 mm, it’s comparable in size to an iPhone but slightly smaller than most top of the range Android handsets. The BlackBerry 9900 was first announced back in May 2011. After a week of it being released, here’s our review:

The Handset

An initial impression once I got my hands on it is the build. It is a tiny bit weightier than the BlackBerry 9700 I have been using for the past few months, however the quality of it is sturdy with the smooth fascia surrounded by the brushed metal bevelled edging. The back is a mixture of rubberized plastic topped with a carbon fibre look inlay. The buttons along the edging are metal as well, and you have the screen lock button at the top, volume control buttons on the right hand side (with an extra button between them for pause and play). Below this, you have the one and only side convenience key, default programmed for camera. Unfortunately, it’s placing means that quite often I accidently pressed it and launched the camera. On the other side you have the micro USB port and headphone jack. Also along the bottom you have the contact points for the desktop charger. Continue reading

Vodafone seem to have prepared for distribution of the new BlackBerry 7 product line. Vodafone have released a video introducing the features of the BlackBerry 9860 Torch.The 9860 has an integrated 3.7″ touch screen (biggest ever) and the design aims to optimize the display of web interfaces, images and strong support for gaming applications on the device.
