BlackBerry Internet Service

With the release of BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0, the following new features have been added:

New and improved user interface

•BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 includes a redesigned interface intended to make use and navigation simpler for BlackBerry smartphone users continue

An email account integration is deleted from the BlackBerry Internet Service account but the icon for that integration is still present on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Cause: The service book for the particular email integration is not removed

Perform a hard reset of the BlackBerry smartphone by completing the steps outlined in KB02141. The icon, as well as the service book for that integration, will be removed.

A service book contains information that specifies how your BlackBerry smartphone interacts with the BlackBerry® Infrastructure. It also turns on specific services for your BlackBerry smartphone. The selection of service books on your BlackBerry smartphone depends upon the features provided by your wireless service provider and the IT policies set up by your organisation.

The Email Setup icon is not displayed on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.

Cause

This issue might be caused by one of the following:

1. The appropriate Service Books are not present on the BlackBerry smartphone.
2. The feature is not currently supported by the wireless service provider.

Overview

A hoax message circulating on BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) asks users to forward on the BBM message to their contacts in order to maintain BBM service, and claims to have been originally sent by Research In Motion (RIM). 

Rest assured that this BBM message did not originate from RIM and that it does not impact the security of BlackBerry smartphones. It is simply a hoax chain message. Unfortunately, many social networking applications face this scenario, whereby any message, including a hoax message, can be forwarded to a user from one of their contacts. We recommend that users simply ignore the message and do not forward it. continue

RIM have released a new KB for those that dont know how to retrieve forgotten passwords:

Your BlackBerry Internet Service user name is created when you first set up your BlackBerry Internet Service account. If you forget your user name, contact your wireless service provider. continue

This explains why you cant view youtube videos on a BlackBerry. It only works with the WAP browser, not the Internet or BlackBerry Browser. Check with your provider that WAP is included in your Data Bundle.
