
The BlackBerry 9900 was first announced back in May 2011. After a week of it being released, here’s our review:
The Handset
An initial impression once I got my hands on it is the build. It is a tiny bit weightier than the BlackBerry 9700 I have been using for the past few months, however the quality of it is sturdy with the smooth fascia surrounded by the brushed metal bevelled edging. The back is a mixture of rubberized plastic topped with a carbon fibre look inlay. The buttons along the edging are metal as well, and you have the screen lock button at the top, volume control buttons on the right hand side (with an extra button between them for pause and play). Below this, you have the one and only side convenience key, default programmed for camera. Unfortunately, it’s placing means that quite often I accidently pressed it and launched the camera. On the other side you have the micro USB port and headphone jack. Also along the bottom you have the contact points for the desktop charger. Continue reading »
