In the last year Motorola have released a range of handsets geared not just towards functionality, but style. This all began with the Motorola V3 and the Motorola V3i, and was followed by the slightly less popular SLVR model. The addition of 3G capabilities to the ‘V’ range of devices then saw the launch of the V3x – all with the same style design with their instinctive brushed aluminium keypads and leather bound holsters. Once the original V3 had a strong hold in the market, Motorola gave it a massive push by releasing it in a few distinctive colours, the one we all remember well being the pink version which was something of an acquired taste, but certainly distinctive!
Another popular clamshell which hit the market recently was the Motorola PEBL (which we reviewed back in December). This model, like the V3, is yet another clamshell with a very smooth and sleek design bearing no corners or edges – in mobile phone terms this really is a well crafted device and at face value looks more like an ornament than a mobile phone. Well Motorola are doing it again and releasing the PEBL in a variety of colours including orange, baby blue, green and yes…..pink!
