Samsung has strengthened its leadership of the mobile technology field with its recent launch of the HSDPA enabled Z560.

The Z560 is the first mobile launched for the European market designed to work with the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology sometimes referred to as 3.5 G technology. HSDPA quite simply increases the speed of data transfer from current 3G rates by as much as a factor of 7 utilising Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) to improve downlink performance. In layman’s terms this means errors are reduced in the transmission of data and performance improved providing faster data transfer.

The HSDPA network, first demonstrated in Europe at the 2006 3GSM World Conference in Barcelona allows data transmission speeds of up to 3.6 mbps enabling a whole new generation of multimedia possibilities. Users can enjoy large scale multimedia downloads such as DVD quality movies, interactive gaming and high speed internet access at rates comparable to fixed line ADSL services.

The Samsung Z560 is advanced enough to support 1.8mbps data rates and comes in an ultra slim design (with a depth of just 16mm) and offers a range of sophisticated features such as a 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, external touch music keys, 30 MB of internal menu and also a microSD external memory slot. The Z560 beautifully combines all these features in its super slim design and then adds twin screens including a 2.3” QVGA 262K LCD wide and easy to use display to take advantage of the HSDPA enhanced services.
