Vodafone UK has given more details on how they will be sharing masts across the UK with O2 UK. As reported here back in October and June, instead of having seperate masts for each network, they will be putting their masts and O2’s masts together, getting rid of duplicates and building out some new ones. From early next year, Vodafone customers will be able to use the London Underground Wi-Fi service for free.

The infrastructure for this network was installed by Virgin Media earlier this year in time for the London Olympics, and Virgin Media has allowed all users with Wi-Fi enabled devices to to use it without charge. However Virgin Media announced last month that the service will be chargeable to non Virgin Media customers from the beginning of 2013. However, Vodafone have manage to come to an agreement that their customers can log into the Wi-Fi service for nothing, using their My Vodafone account details. Continue reading

Vodafone UK took over the front pages of some of the nation’s newspapers this morning to push the benefits of its upcoming 4G service, ahead of Ofcom’s auction early next year.

The advert cites Vodafone winning Best Network earlier this month at the Mobile Choice Awards as voted by the public, and takes it a step further by declaring “After being voted the best, there is only one way to go. Better.” Continue reading
