Henley Royal Regatta 4th - 8th July 2007 Held annually since 1839, except during the two World Wars, over 100 races take place over a course that is a mile and 550 yards long. The Regatta is one of the oldest and most prestigious international rowing events in the world.
Since 1851 the Regatta has enjoyed Royal patronage, with Prince Albert, the Royal Consort as the first Royal patron. After his death it became tradition for the reigning Monarch to consent to be patron, and the Regatta was most recently honoured with the visit of HRH The Princess Royal and HRH the Duke of Gloucester in 2004. Unlike modern multi-lane international regattas, Henley operates a knock-out draw with two boats racing in heat. Often two races run at once with one starting as the previous race heads for the finish. This makes for a thrilling spectacle around which the social and fashionable aspects of Henley Royal Regatta unite. If you are visiting Henley-upon-Thames for the Regatta in July 2007, why not arrange for Adam Phones to look after your communications needs whilst in the UK with our highly specialised hire service? With reliable mobile phones for hire from just a £1 a day with free insurance and bespoke support, you will be able to concentrate on watching the racing and enjoying yourself in the Stewards Enclosure. |
