This competitive international film festival is held annually in the Shibuya area of Tokyo. The main screenings take place at the Bunkamura and Roppongi Hills.

As well as screening a wide range of new Japanese and Asian films, the festival stages tribute screenings of movies by major world filmmakers, puts on various themed screenings and awards a number of prizes, including the Asian Film Award.
